What is Microtraining?
Microtraining is a short and effective way to deliver training in bite-sized pieces. The techniques include short and engaging 10-15-minute modules which not only retain the attention of learners but, it’s manageable, time-effective, and concise.
The process of developing a micro training module can be facilitated by a well-designed, structured burst of information. This consists of material that’s broken down in such a way, it requires little effort to complete during individual sessions, which will result in increased retention of the material by the learner.
Why use microtraining?
With modern-day technology harming individuals’ attention spans, users prefer a faster-paced condensed method of learning. With the ongoing distractions of social media, text messages, and instant connectedness of modern-day society, now is more important than ever to deploy microtraining strategies.
What others are saying about microtraining?
In an article by Forbes, it states that:
“Companies like Google and Walmart have already started offering short training as part of their compensation package. Add this to that the fact that such education is available to all users, is cheaper, and gives immediate practical results. That is why micro-education has become the new standard of modern education” (Semeshkina 2021).
Not only are large companies such as Google and Walmart using microtraining strategies, but they have also seen immediate practical results from it.
Microtraining has been a new standard for modern education with many universities, companies, and academic communities shifting their strategies to tailor their approach. Microtraining could be offered with more flexibility and allows users to determine the time and device that’s convenient for them to complete their learning.
Importance of staying ahead of eLearning trends.
Now it’s more important than ever to capitalize on trends in education. By staying current will help your eLearning training program to attract your employee’s attention and allows you to get the most of your training dollars spent. We’re hoping that 2021 is a year that everyone can invest in their training and deliver more effective educational results.
